International Book Fair 2008 to be inaugurated on Romanian Language Day

The 2008 edition of the International Book Fair to open on the Romanian Language Day on 31 August will be dedicated to writer Ion Druta and the Cantemir Year in Moldova. New book will be launched during all those 5 days of the Fair, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from sources in the National Library.
The 27th edition will be hosted as a rule by the National Library and will last till September 4. The Fair will be visited from 11.00 to 19.00. On the first day, they will award diplomas of the Council of Europe to prizes for the most read 10 books of the year, according to a top developed by the hosts.
On 1 September, the sitting of the Moldovan athenaeum will take place at the National Library, to be dedicated to the situation of the literature in the Republic of Moldova, and on the third day, they will organize an international symposium on the digitalization of libraries. On the same day they will present books by publishers from Poland, the USA, Britain, Japan, France, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, etc.) and will officially launch the integrated info system of Moldovan libraries – SIBIMOL.
On September 3, manifestations dedicated to the writer Ion Druta will take place.
On the last day of the Fair they will host the Gala of the Laureates of the International Book Fair.
This Fair is organized by the Education Ministry, the Culture Ministry and the National Library. It lasted 11 days last year.
