The Government approved a bill that institutes an internal remedy against the violation of the term for examining cases or implementing court decisions, Info-Prim Neo reports. Under the bill, anyone who considers that their right to have a case tried or to have a court decision implemented within a reasonable time can appeal to court. The damage caused by a public authority will be compensated for by the state (from the state budget). Minister of Justice Alexandru Tanase said the reasonable timeframe for implementing court decisions is up to one year, while for examining cases is up to five years. Half of the applications submitted to the European Court of Human Rights by Moldovan citizens concern the non-implementation of court decisions.
