A sum of 700,000 lei was allocated from the reserve fund of the municipality of Chisinau for services to extinguish the fire at the waste dump in Țânțăreni and to alleviate its consequences, IPN reports.
Mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban asked to set up a special commission that will monitor how the money is spent and how the works are performed.
As a result of the commission’s decision, the Chisinau City Hall will perform an internal inquiry to find out the cause of fire and to assess the actions taken by the decision makers responsible for the management of the waste dump.
During several days of efforts to contain the blaze, the firefighters on July 30 extinguished the fire at the waste dump in Țânțăreni, Anenii Noi. According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, the waste dump is 900 square meters in area and the sources of fire were moldering inside it.
