Interior Ministry launches operation “Care”

The Ministry of the Interior between June 1 and August 31 will carry out the operation “Care”, which is aimed at ensuring public order and road safety during children’s summer holidays, Dumitru Rusu, deputy head of the General Public Order Police Division, said at a news conference, Info-Prim Neo reports. There will be stepped up the activities aimed at preventing the violation of traffic rules. The swimming pools will be supervised in concert with the local public authorities. Warning signs will be put in places where swimming is banned. The summer camps will be inspected to see how the sanitary and security norms are observed, Rusu said. According to statistical data, the number of accidents involving children this year rose by 15.7% on last year. Six children died and 167 were injured in 162 accidents. Twenty-eight accidents occurred through the children’s fault, down 40.4% from a year earlier. The 926 road accidents that happened in Moldova this year resulted in 123 deaths and 1,178 persons injured.
