The public functionaries with a special status of the Ministry of the Interior will receive compensations for renting a place to stay. The Cabinet approved relevant regulations on June 29, IPN reports.

The functionaries should not have an employer-provided home, including in dorms, and should have the permanent domicile further than 30 km of the workplace. The compensation will cover the cost of rent stipulated in the rent contract, but will not exceed the employees’ ordinary salary. If the husband and the wife are public servants with a special status at the Ministry of the Interior, they will both receive compensations for rent.

The Ministry of the Interior until now established three public-private partnerships to build homes for employees. It is planned that about 300 apartments will be finished by September and will be provided to employees of the Ministry. In the municipality of Chisinau, the Ministry needs about 1,000 apartments. It is expected that the necessities will be met during the next two years.
