The National Social Insurance House (CNAS) and the USAID/BIZTAR project Tuesday launched an information system that allows the insured persons to have quick access to information about their social contributions through the Internet, Info-Prim Neo reports. So far, the information about the payments made for the insured persons could be obtained within 30 days, only on the basis of a written application. “As there was no updated information about the social payments, the employee could not check if the employer correctly paid the social contributions,” said CNAS president Maria Borta. The social contributions account can be accessed from any computer at www.CNAS.md. Clara Sorocean, the head of the CNAS Contributions Supervision Division, said that before entering this website, any taxpayer can ask for a password from the CNAS to have access to the personal account. A password is obligatory as the information is secured. If the taxpayers identify mistakes in transferring the social contributions, they will receive instructions what they should do to correct the mistakes. Marcus Micheli, Charge d'Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Moldova, said the information system was created under the governmental program and the USAID/BIZTAR project and is designed to improve private individuals' and legal entities' access to government information. USAID/BIZTAR cooperated with the State Tax Service in working out the information system "Electronic Statement". A new information system providing access to information about the payment of taxes will be launched soon. The cost of the three-year USAID/BIZTAR project is US$6 million. The project implemented at the CNAS cost US$80,000.
