Compulsory health insurance premiums for pupils and students studying full-time studies abroad are paid from the state budget. Exceptions are those who are obliged by law to take out individual insurance, says the National Health Insurance Company, IPN reports.

In order to be insured, young people studying abroad must submit the application and supporting documents, such as a university transcript or other documents confirming that they are full-time students in a foreign educational institution and the duration of the study year.

The documents must be submitted to the Beneficiary Relations Section of the CNAM territorial agency in the area of service.

The National Health Insurance Company grants the status of insured person from the date of enrollment or the beginning of the study year until the end of the study year, with the possibility of extension in case of promotion to the following year.
