The municipal authorities of Chisinau ordered to set up a commission for controlling five municipal public food enterprises that provide services to pre-university education institutions to see how they observe the quality and other requirements and how they manage the human resources, IPN reports.

In the February 20 meeting of officials o Chisinau services and divisions, Health Division head Mihai Moldovanu said the inspections started today at a number of lyceums in Centru district. There will be inspected 132 education institutions, including primary and secondary schools and lyceums, which are served by the five food combines. The inspections will continue until March 31 and are aimed at identifying the reported irregularities, including related to menu compilation.

After the meeting at the Chisinau City Hall, councilor of the Party of Socialists Eugenia Ceban criticized the creation of the commission, saying the mayor and Mihai Moldovanu should better think how to improve alimentation in kindergartens and to raise the salaries of cooks, educator assistants and teaching staff. The food combines work only with fresh national products, while the kindergartens are supplied with frozen fish that is either spoiled or becomes much smaller in quantity when it is unfrozen.

Eugenia Ceban also said that Mihai Moldovanu should better deal with the health sector that is in a disastrous situation, according to her. She considers particular goals are pursued by these inspections.
