The Moldova-Russia International Association of Friendship and Cooperation marks 15 years of existence. On this occasion, the persons that contributed to the strengthening of the Moldovan-Russian relations received the honorific insignia “Antioh Cantemir" on Tuesday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Fourteen insignia were handed over overall, including to the director general of the Press House Anatolii Dubrovskii, stage manager Eleonora Constantinova and stage manager Natalia Bodiul.
“There is a very strong historical connection between Moldova and Russia. During many years, these two countries have shared their cultural values and our task is to contribute to this process,” said stage manager and scriptwriter Natalia Bodiul.
The participants in the event spoke about the possible erecting of a monument to Dimitrie Cantemir on one of the Chisinau streets. “Dimitrie Cantemir does not have luck in our country. It is already the third attempt to build the monument. I hope that this year we will succeed,” said Iurie Maximov, president of the Moldova-Russia International Association of Friendship and Cooperation.
The Moldova-Russia International Association of Friendship and Cooperation has a membership of 600.
