The initiative group for initiating the referendum on the dismissal of the mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca was registered. A decision to this effect was made by the Centru Court on August 1.
Contacted by IPN, the initiative group leader Victor Chironda said now that the group was registered, they are to obtain the required lists from the Central Election Commission and will then start to collect signatures.
The court set a timeframe of 60 days for collecting signatures. The members of the initiative group are to collect at least 65,000 signatures. The group will inform about the method of collecting signatures later.
