The Center for the Analysis and Prevention of Corruption (CAPC), the Journalistic Investigations Center and the newspaper “Ziarul de Garda” have launched an initiative for transparent presidential elections within which the candidates for President and the violations committed by these will be monitored and free legal advice will be offered in electoral disputes, IPN reports.
CAPC president Galina Bostan said the legal aid will be provided through a hotline that was already set up. The people can call on (022) 23 85 32, (022) 23 85 71 and (022) 23 83 84 daily, between 9am and 7pm.
The head of the Journalistic Investigations Center Cornelia Cozonac stated that the Center and “Ziarul de Garda” will monitor the violations that will be committed in the election campaign and will report these. Also, violations and schemes and dubious businesses involving candidates can be signaled and indicated on the ‘corruption map’ of the portal anticorupţie.md. The ‘corruption map’ is a platform for free, open expression intended for each person who was a victim or a witness of acts of corruption, abuses and human rights violations.
A guide for the mass media about the rights of journalists within the election campaign will be worked out within the initiative.
