Infrastructure-related projects valued at about $400 million will be launched in the first half of next year. According to First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Dodon, these projects could insure a stable economic growth in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. Igor Dodon said that the initiation of the mentioned projects will strengthen at least three positions in the social and economic development of the country, giving a new impetus to all the sectors of the national economy involved or connected with the construction sector. “New workplaces would be created in Moldova if the world economic crisis makes the economic migrants return home and the labor force will be in excess. The currency inflows for infrastructure projects will guarantee the stability of the currency market,” the First Deputy Prime Minister said. According to the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the projects will be partially financed from foreign sources. Over $300 million will be allocated as part of the Millennium Challenge Corporation Threshold Country Program. A sum of over 550 million lei was earmarked in the 2009 state budget for infrastructure-related projects.
