The Customs Service created a Call Center to help the Moldovans who plan a trip abroad or the Moldovans from aboard who come home and want to know the conditions in which the goods are taken over the border. The service can be contacted by skype, email and by phone on + (373 22) 574 111. The phone number is posted at all the customs posts and offices, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Customs Service, a monthly assessment of the made calls shows that the number of those who use the information and consultancy service is on the rise. Most often the people inquire about the way the road toll is paid, what goods can be taken by private individuals over the border, how the customs duties are calculated and how the units of transport are cleared.

If the telephone line is busy, the person is asked to leave a message. Afterward, the Call Center operator calls back and provides explanations. Only one operator works on the line between 8am and 5pm.

The answers to the frequently asked questions are published in the Customs Consultant section on the official website of the Customs Service.
