Information on bank robbery is kept in secret

A subsidiary of Eximbank commercial bank sited in Botanica district in Chisinau was robbed this weekend, Info-Prim Neo learned from sources who whished to stay anonymous. Witnesses saw numerous policemen on Saturday morning in the neighborhood of the named subsidiary. Police refused to disclose information on Saturday, but confirmed the act of robbery. On Sunday as well, sources from the General Police Station and Botanica Police Precinct avoided to reveal information, but didn’t gainsay that the robbery was committed. Info-Prim Neo attempted to get in touch with the administration of Eximbank, which turned to be unavailable. The bank’s subsidiaries located in Botanica were beyond reach as well, except for the subsidiary no. 13, an employer of which suggested calling the central administration. Economic analyst Veaceslav Ionita told Info-Prim Neo that banks try to keep such cases utterly confidential. The losses which banks might incur because of a piece of information are much bigger than the amount of the stolen money. Usually robbers take relatively small sums, so it doesn’t affect banks much. “It’s like a mosquito sting for an elephant”, Ionita said.
