The information campaign on the first National Park in Moldova will begin after the United Nations Development Programme approves the action plan. Its final variant will be proposed until July 30, after the Ministry of Ecology agrees it, Info-Prim Neo reports. Viorel Gherciu, head of ProRuralInvest organization, involved in the project, mentioned some of the main actions that will be taken during the information campaign: seminars in schools, printing and distributing flyers, publishing press articles, broadcasting promotional materials on TV and radio and so on. The project manager Iulian Gasca told Info-Prim Neo he didn’t agree with the plan proposed by NGO ProRuralInvest, claiming it was an individual one and not a partnership as it was supposed to be. “We need to discuss some issues thoroughly” Iulian Gasca stressed. The Ministry of Ecology refused to comment, saying it needed more time to examine the project. The first National Park in Moldova includes 14 villages in Orhei district and Romanesti community in Straseni and covers an area of 20,000 hectares. This is a project of the Ministry of Ecology, financed by the Global Environment Facility and implemented by UNDP Moldova. Until 2013, there should be 4 zones in the reservation: one for short-term and another one for long-term recreation, while 2 others will be used for scientific research and full environmental protection. Hotels and touristic centers will be built in the first 2 zones.
