The social networking site Facebook launched a mechanism by which the people can find out if their relatives and friends who are in Paris are fine. They can see if these registered as safe on https://www.facebook.com/safetycheck/paris_terror_attacks/?search_type=safe , IPN reports.

At least 140 people have died in Paris in a wave of coordinated gun and suicide bomb attacks. Six venues across Paris were targeted. Gunmen opened fire at a rock concert and on patrons in restaurants and a series of bombs were detonated near the Stade de France, where the national team was playing Germany. French President François Hollande declared a state of emergency and tightened controls on the country’s borders. No one claimed the attacks yet.
