The information appearing in the public space about the alleged exclusion of the position of Gagauz language teacher from the staffing and Gagauz language classes from the kindergartens program in the Gagauz region is a falsehood aimed to mislead the public opinion, the Ministry of Education and Research said, quoted by IPN.

"Both the 1999 and the recently approved staff lists do not contain a Gagauz language teacher unit. However, the founder of the institution has the legal right to approve such units, depending on the specific needs of the kindergarten and within the available budget. This provision has been valid in the past and remains in force today," the ministry emphasizes.

The MEC points out that it has given more autonomy to the founder, so that from its own resources it can hire other staff units according to the Moldovan Occupational Classification.

Thus, any decision on the inclusion of Gagauz language classes in the educational program of kindergartens in the Gagauz ATU remains at the discretion of the founder, in accordance with existing legal regulations.

The General Directorate of Education of UTA Găgăuzia stated that the Ministry of Education and Research has reapproved staff lists in preschool institutions, which include the introduction of a Romanian language teacher position, while the position of a Gagauz language teacher is absent. According to the Directorate, this decision could lead to the dismissal of over 70 teachers in Gagauzia’s kindergartens and the termination of Gagauz language classes for preschoolers. In this context, a letter was sent to President Maia Sandu and Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun, requesting a review of the order and the continuation of mother tongue instruction in kindergartens. Currently, 5,258 children from 56 kindergartens are studying the Gagauz language, with 70 teachers involved in the process, as stated on the Directorate's website.
