At the referendum, the voters will answer with “YES” or “NO” the following question: “Do you agree with the law to review the Constitution of Romania in the form in which it was adopted by Parliament?” .
The law to review the Constitution of Romania adopted by Romanian’s Parliament provides that Article 48, paragraph (1) of Romania’s Constitution will have the following content: “The family is based on a freely decided marriage between a man and a woman, on their equality in rights and on parents’ rights to ensure the growing, education and training of children”. The current form of Article 48, paragraph (1) of Romania’s Constitution, whose amendment is put up for the referendum, stipulates that: “The family is based on a freely decided marriage between spouses, on their equality in rights and on the parents’ duty to ensure the growing, education and training of children”.
