Inflation rate reached 9.1% in September

Official data of the National Statistics Bureau show that in September 2006, consumption prices increased compared to the same month of 2005 by 1.1%. Food products went up 1.2%, non-food goods - 1.6% and services provided to the population – by 0.5%.
In the respective period, the price growth was influenced by the increase in prices of some food products: cucumbers – by 58%, potatoes – by 11.4%, diet eggs – by 8.6%, poultry - by 3% and dairy products – by 1.4% (including milk – by 2.6%, ewe’s cheese- by 4.2%). In what concerns products of other nature, the increase in price of fuel represent 3.4% (including coal - 5.9%), furniture – 3.1%, medicine and construction materials – 1.8% (including timber – 2.8% and slate – 1.8).
In the reference period the taxes for services provided raised, in public baths – by 6%, educational institutions – by 3.6%, taxi transportation – by 3.0%, hotel services – by 2.8%, those of house repairs – by 2.1% and for ritual services and tourist ones- by 1.7%.
Cut prices in September were registered for grapes – by 10.8%, sugar – by 0.8%, beef and pork – by 0.5%, fresh fruits and vegetables – by 0.3% (including watermelons – by 36.3%, eggplants – by 29.1%, tomatoes – by 8.0%, mild peppers – by 7.4).
In September, the level of inflation increased by 9.1 compared to that of September 2005.
