The Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital “Toma Ciorbă” will merge with the Dermatology and Communicable Diseases Hospital, as a Governmenr decision drafted by the Ministry of Health provides.
“All the contagious diseases form part of the group of infectious diseases and it is therefore possible to merge the two institutions by instituting common management,” says the draft decision, noting that the administration and the medical personnel of the two hospitals should be engaged in the implementation of the Government’s health policies, the national programs to prevent and combat contiguous, infections, sexually transmitted diseases in the national context.
The Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital “Toma Ciorbă” was created in 1896 and is based in old buildings that do not meet the contemporary requirements. This has a direct impact on the quality and safety of the medical service.
The Dermatology and Communicable Diseases Hospital is based in a building whose state is better and can be adjusted to the current health sector service standards.
The health authorities consider joint management of the two hospitals should be instituted so as to reorganize and optimize the work of the given institutions and to ensure the quality of the offered medical services and the safety of patients by increasing compliance with the national and international standards.
