A baby boy aged 10 months died from the burns he suffered when a television set exploded in his vicinity. A spokesperson for the Fire & Emergency Department told Info-Prim Neo that the tragedy occurred in the home of a young couple in Balatina village, Glodeni district. On Friday morning the mother walked out of the house leaving her little boys – the older one aged 3 – home alone. As soon as the woman left the house, the older boy decided to turn on the TV, which exploded into pieces. The explosion hit the cradle in which the infant was lying, burning his head, face, and chest. The mother hitchhiked to rush the boy to the district hospital, where he died from the sustained burns. The television was bought two years ago and was said to be defective. The case is handled both by fire experts and police. A fatal traffic accident involving a Volkswagen Passat occurred on Sunday on Causeni-Belgorod roadway. Two men – the driver and a passenger – were found carbonized inside. It is not yet known whether the men died before or after the impact.
