An industrial park will be set up on the outskirts of Cimislia town. It will occupy an area of 40 hectares. This will be the first industrial park constructed from zero in Moldova. It will be then extended to cover up to 100 hectares, IPN reports.

In the launch of the project, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said the creation of the industrial park means provision of more highly paying jobs. Emphasis will be put on the processing of agricultural products.

According to a communiqué from the Government, investments of 70 million lei are needed for building the industrial park. The main backers are the Government and the Cimislia mayor’s office. The Romanian county Prahova is the main partner of the project. The county’s head Mircea Cozma, who is in Cimislia heading a delegation from Prahova, said it is a premiere for them to start the construction of an industrial park outside Romania.

The park in Cimislia will be built during five years. A German investor announced its intention to invest in it.

Iurie Leanca also visited the High School “Mihai Eminescu” in Cimislia, where he had discussions centering on Moldova’s European integration with a group of young people. The Premier explained how the reforms done by the Government will improve the business climate so as to stimulate economic growth, attract investments and create new jobs.

The official took part in the unveiling of the monument to victims of the Stalinist repression in Cimislia. “I accepted the invitation to take part in this emotional event because we have a moral duty towards the over 1,200 people who were deported from Cimislia and the almost 5,000 who died because of hunger,” said the Prime Minister, adding it is significant that the event takes place the next day after the Independence Day and two days before the Our Language Day.
