Industrial output up 2.8% in January-September

The Moldovan plants have produced output worth 21,776.9 million lei in Jan.-Sept. of 2008, up 2.8% compared year on year. The volume of the industrial output in September increased 3% compared to Sept. 2007, Info-Prim Neo quotes data issued by the National Statistics Bureau. The output growth was triggered especially by hikes in the production of food and drinks producing companies (+7.4%) and in the energy sector (6.4%), with shares 38.6% and 10.3% from the total. Substantial hikes were registered by wineries, distilleries, vapor and hot water suppliers, bakeries, etc. The output of companies making apparel, processing and canning vegetables and fruit, making paper and cardboard went down.
