Independent candidate Serghei Dubalari reports highest campaign costs

Serghei Dubalari spent the largest amount of money on the election campaign among the independent candidates who are competing for seats on the Chisinau Municipal Council – over 10,000 lei. Four candidates for councilors reported zero costs, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Chisinau district electoral council made public the revenues and expenditure of the candidates registered before May 9. The financial reports of the candidates who were registered later will be published in the next period. Serghei Dubalari reported revenues of 10,000 lei and expenses of 10,000 lei. He is followed by Fiodor Negru, who spent 5,000 lei during the campaign. Anatolii Solovioiv spent less than 2,000 lei, while Maxim Braila, Pavel Rosca, Oleg Beregoi and Alexandru Lomachin reported zero costs. Only independent candidate Serghei Poddubnyi did not submit a report. Mihai Godea - the only independent candidate for mayor of Chisinau – reported incomes of 320,000 lei in the electoral fund and zero expenses. Collectively, the independents earned revenues of 337,100 lei and spent over 17,000 lei. Under the regulations concerning the financing of the election campaigns, the independent candidates present financial reports to the electoral bureau of the Chisinau district electoral council once in two weeks. The reports must contain information about the incomes earned and costs incurred during the campaign.
