The participants in the military conflict for the defence of integrity and independence of Moldova, who are living on the left bank of the Nistru River, will benefit from nominative compensations when paying utility bills. In this regard, the Government amended last week the Decision of July 2000 in order to ensure the access to nominative compensations of the participants in the military actions. Until now they also benefited from the right to nominative compensations, but they could not use this right because they live on the left bank of the Nistru River. Amendments to the legislation have been operated as a result of a number of petitions coming from the participants in the military actions of 1992, who live on the left bank of the Nistru River. According to the information of the administrative–military Department of the Defence Ministry, 1481 participants in the armed conflict for the defence of integrity and independence of Moldova and 36 families of those who fell on duty are living on the left bank of the Nistru River. Seventy-three persons, residents of Copanca village and 1065 – of Dubasari raion are already benefiting from the right to nominative compensations established by the territorial social insurance House Causeni and Cosnita (Dubasari). The present decision project is being worked out to ensure the access to nominative compensations of another 343 persons. The average quantum of the nominative compensations is of 840 lei per year. Financial means of about 288,100 lei annually are needed to cover expenses in this respect.
