Additional measures will be taken in kindergartens in Chisinau to prevent the spread of viruses. Among the measures is the morning checkup. Children who show signs of illness will go home. A relevant circular was issued by the General Division of Education, Youth and Sports following the worsening of the epidemiological situation due to enterovirus infections, IPN reports.
Early education institutions are asked to sanitize the rooms by using disinfectants with virucidal effect.
"We also inform that, in order to properly organize and carry out the educational process, including extracurricular activities on the occasion of the spring holidays, the Division recommends limiting the participation of children in various events in crowded places," runs the document
The Chisinau Public Health Center said that an essential increase in morbidity due to enterovirus infections was witnessed in the capital city in 2024. Last year, 1,302 such infections were recorded, up 60.7% compared to the same period of 2023. The real morbidity is even higher because the parents of sick children in many cases do not seek medical assistance.
