Until the budgetary-fiscal and customs policy for 2015 is approved, the income tax exemptions will remain at the same level as last year (1/12 of the annual exemptions monthly), IPN reports, quoting an informative note of the State Tax Service.
Currently, the taxpayers (resident private individuals) benefit from a personal income tax exemption of 9,516 lei a year. They can also benefit from a similar exemption for the husband (wife) on condition that the husband (wife) does not enjoy a personal exemption. The exemption for a maintained person is 2,124 lei.
If the size of exemptions is modified when the budgetary-fiscal and customs policy for 2015 is agreed, the changes will start to be applied when they are approved, not retroactively.
A bill with amendments to a number of legal acts, concerning the budgetary-fiscal and customs policy for 2015, which was published on the website particip.gov.md last summer, envisioned a rise in the untaxed incomes and personal exemptions and in the exemptions for maintained persons in line with the rate of inflation projected for this year, of 4.3%.
