Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov, in a news conference on September 6, said the incidents that take place in Corjova represent unilateral actions aimed at destabilizing the situation in Moldova's eastern districts. According to him, these actions are condemned by all the foreign partners of Moldova. “One of the aims of these challenges might be to create conditions for re-escalating the conflict between Chisinau and Tiraspol,” Victor Osipov said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The official stressed that such actions are very dangerous for Transnistria's security. The Moldovan constitutional authorities only monitored the situation and did not intervene. “It was worse the previous years, when the situation had not been even monitored. Only the OSCE took measures then. The authorities preferred to point the finger at the OSCE, saying the international organizations must ensure the security of those people,” Victor Osipov said. He added that the Government wants to reach an agreement with the Transnistrian administration at political talks so that Tiraspol abandons such challenges. “We will continue to act as we planned,” Victor Osipov. said On September 5, about 30 militiamen led by the head of the Dubasari militia station Nicolae Pestov and roughly 300 persons of different ages dressed in civvies blocked access to the polling place in Corjova village. The Dubasari Prosecutor's Office took legal action over this case. Earlier, on September 1, the separatist forces disconnected the local school from the power supply and banned the school's administration from raising Moldova's flag and paying the national anthem during the festivity held to mark the beginning of the new school year. Several days after the incident, the co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission on behalf of Transnistria Oleg Beleakov told the Transnistrian reporters that the electricity was cut off owing to works performed to organize the September 2 events commemorating 20 years of the foundation of the breakaway republic.
