Public policy expert Stefan Gligor says that in the first 100 days of the current government, an unlikely coalition has been set up and this is a great success. In his opinion, today's society is freer, but, the reform of the judiciary, for instance, has not succeeded. Political commentator Alexandru Petcov argues that in the first 100 days of governance he did not really see any economic leap forward. The opinions were expressed on "Expertise Time" program, Jurnal TV, IPN reports.
"We still have a lot of issues related to the judiciary - a dependent, compromised justice system that has not been reformed in any way so far," says Stefan Gligor. According to him, there is still much to be done in the Republic of Moldova and he would like to see a very clear, well developed governance program that responds to the needs of society.
"Today we see that it has not been very successful. For instance, it was not possible to repeal the mixed electoral system, even though this was formally done. If we remember, when it was in opposition the government stated very clearly: "we will be in the Parliament only for a few months to overthrow the regime of the oligarch Plahotniuc and organize repeated elections based on the old proportionate system". Now, if some people still don’t know it, if early elections are organized, they will be held in accordance with the system of Plahotniuc and Dodon, however no one is in a hurry to repeal this decision,” said Alexandru Petcov. In his opinion, an economic leap forward cannot happen because the government has resorted to tariff increases.
Democratic MP Nicolae Ciubuc believes that an achievement of the current government is that it recognizes its failures. The MP says that he still has not seen the governance program of Sandu Government, but only promises of depoliticization and desoligrachization. "Otherwise, everything is based on antagonism - the destruction of the previous achievements –programs that benefitted the people "A new life", "A doctor for everybody", "The First House", both social and economic projects targeting the citizens’ problems," the MP mentioned.
Igor Grosu, the chairman of the PAS group, ACUM bloc, mentions that the speed at which things change cannot be to everyone’s liking. What has certainly been attained by the current government, says Igor Grosu, is the restoration of good relations with the external partners. "The International Monetary Fund has accepted the two evaluation reports of the Republic of Moldova and IMF disbursements mean green light for all the development partners. We have covered the budget deficit - the resources will come from the EU and other development partners. And most importantly - we must live through the coming winter, "said the MP.
