In Stăuceni commune, Chisinau municipality, vote rigging could take place. At an IPN press conference, Nicolae Balaur, an independent candidate for mayor, has stated that it is possible that the "rigging process could extend to all the suburbs" of Chisinau.

"In February 2019, 7480 persons with voting rights were included on the lists. As of September 2019, according to the data of Stăuceni constituency, there were already 8012 people with voting rights on the lists. There is an increase of 532 people,” said Nicolae Balaur.

The candidate for mayor of Stăuceni has mentioned that, in October this year, according to the website of the Central Electoral Commission, 9056 with voting rights are on the lists. "These data do not include the persons who have the right to be registered on the additional lists," said Nicolae Balaur.

According to the candidate, the current governance brings people to the suburbs to vote and uses the administrative resources to the maximum in these elections. "The current government does this because it understands that its candidates have no chance of winning the elections in an equal competition," specified the candidate.

Nicolae Balaur mentioned that in Stăuceni commune started a campaign to denigrate him. It is carried out by different methods, such as intimidating and threatening his supporters and posting denigrating messages on social networks. "It is obvious that these violations cannot occur without the support of the current government and the officials of mayor offices, because it is known who provides help and how much a vote costs," said the candidate for mayor of Stăuceni commune, who also mentioned that a vote is worth 300 - 500 lei.

To prevent electoral fraud in Stăuceni elections, Nicolae Balaur appealed to the embassies of the Republic of Moldova, the media and international observers - to pay more attention to the voting process on October 20.
