The Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) in the current conditions will not support the dismissal of the Government led by Ion Chicu, MP Sergiu Litvinenco was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Natalia Morari’s Politics”.

The MP said the party formulated such a position as a result of a meeting of representatives of the PAS and the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” that was held in the Parliament Building.

“We discussed with the DA Platform. We had a discussion group between the PAS and the DA Platform. We discussed the political situation in general. We told our colleagues from the DA Platform that the current government is a catastrophe for the Republic of Moldova. Most of the countries now have almost zero infections with COVID-19, but we have a number of infections that is higher even than that during the state of emergency. This is a catastrophic government, including at economic level. We told our colleagues from the DA Platform that given the current pandemic, the crisis, it would be irresponsible for us to support a no-confidence motion and remove the Government when we are not sure that a majority that would support another good, pro-European, authentic government can be formed,” stated Sergiu Litvinenco.

He noted that the opposition is blocked as the current parliamentary majority formed by the Democrats and the Socialists holds 52 seats. But the PAS MPs will not allow to depend somehow on the members of the parliamentary group of the Shor Party.

“Calculations do not allow us to go further. We told our colleagues from the DA Platform that we do not have discussions with the Short Party, either on the removal of the Government or on the appointment of a new Government. We do not want the removal or appointment of a Government to depend on them,” said Sergiu Livinenco.

He also said that the PAS also didn’t have discussions with the Pro Moldova parliamentary group led by Andrian Candu. However, Socialist MP Vasile Bolea said he possesses different information. “There are two possibilities in this case: either Mister Candu lies or Mister Litvinenco lies or the latter does not know that someone discusses with Mister Candu on behalf of them,” he stated.

As to the removal of the Government, Vasile Bolea assured that the situation of the Chicu Goverbnment is stable. This works and will continue working.

Earlier, the leader of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Andrei Năstase said that their party is ready to assume governance. He noted that the party’s vice presidents Alexandru Slusari and Igor Munteanu and he himself could take over the Cabinet and the party also has suitable candidates for ministers.
