The persons with special needs and reduced mobility will benefit from better services when travelling by air transport. The acting Government approved relevant amendments and supplements to the National Air Transport Facilitation Program, IPN reports.
Thus, the competent public authorities, airlines, airport administering entities, handling agencies and tour operators will have to take the necessary measures, in accordance with the international standards, to ensure the access of the persons with special needs to all the kinds of services provided during travel, including while in the airport.
The changes oblige the airline, its agent or the tour operator that provide services to the person with special needs to propose an alternative, acceptable solution when appropriate transportation conditions cannot be ensured.
The competent authorities will have to make sure that the potential beneficiaries are informed about their rights in the given area.
