The procedure for electronically declaring imported goods came into force at all the customs posts of Moldova on March 1, 2015, IPN reports.
The measure is aimed at switching over to electronic processing of economic transactions and at removing paper documents. Thus, the declaring of goods becomes a simpler procedure that necessitates only the digital signature and no special training. The implementation of the new procedure will contribute to saving time and to significantly reducing the related costs incurred by economic entities.
The Customs Service of Moldova announced that it aims to fully adjust the local practice to the European electronic standards and conception (E-customs).
Since last September, the procedure for electronically declaring imported goods had been used on a trial bases at the customs posts Sculeni and Tudora.
