The provisions of the new Land Code, which were to enter into force on March 7, will start to be applied on April 1, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry announced, quoted by IPN.
The procedures for the sale and purchase of small agricultural lots, with multiannual plantations and an area of up to 0.25 hectares, will be simplified. In this case, notarial authentication will no longer be required and only a confirmatory document issued by the local public authority will be necessary.
Also, in the case of expropriation of land, the amount of compensation will be equivalent to the market value of the land, and public tender contests will be introduced for leasing out state-owned land.
At the same time, the local councils will decide to classify irrigated or drained land into the category of non-irrigated land. It will be allowed to carry out maintenance works on pastures and meadows from the amounts paid annually by lessees, under the monitoring of the local authorities.
The date of entry into force of the Land Code was modified by Parliament.
