Immunization against several diseases will be charged

Immunization against influenza, viral hepatitis-A, meningococcal, rotaviral and pneumococcal infections, chickenpox, cholera, typhus fever and other dangerous diseases will be made for payment in special rooms of providing immunization services. This are the provisions of an order signed recently, by the Ministry of Healthcare and Social Protection, Ion Ababii. According to the order, the world community works out and implements new vaccines against wide spread infections. On the other hand, the healthcare system is responsible for informing the migrating population on the risks of getting sick of maladies uncharacteristic to the R. of Moldova. At the moment it is impossible to implement a wide free vaccination of population against several maladies from public money because of the high prices of the necessary substances. At the same time, the order mentions that because of the lack of providing such services by the instructed personal form public and private healthcare institutions, some vaccines are being imported and sold by different economic agents, without respecting correspondent conditions of transportation and preserving. Moreover, vaccines are biologically active preparations, administration of which can only be effectuated by trained specialists, in institutions provided with proper equipment and cannot be sold via the current marketing network. The National immunization program of the R. of Moldova provides free vaccination of population against 9 infectious diseases – poliomyelitis, diphtheria, tetanus, spasmodic cough, tuberculosis, measles, rubella, mumps, viral hepatitis-B.
