An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission led by Ivanna Vladkova-Hollar will visit Chisinau during September 22 – October 6, 2015, IPN reports.
According to a press statement issued by the IMF Resident Representative in the Republic of Moldova Armine Khachatryan, the visit is made in preparation of the 2015 Article IV consultation, as well as to initiate discussions on policies that could form a basis for an IMF-supported program.
The IMF holds bilateral discussions with members, usually every year. A staff team visits the country, collects economic and financial information, and discusses with officials the country's economic developments and policies. On return to headquarters, the staff prepares a report, which forms the basis for discussion by the Executive Board.
