The year started successfully for the Moldovan skier Urs Imboden. On January 10, he finished seventh in the Alpine Ski World Cup slalom held at the Swiss resort of Adelboden, Info-Prim Neo reports. He finished the two downhill races in 1 minute and 53.25 seconds. This is his best result obtained by the Moldovan skier this year. It was also a birthday present as Imboden turned 35 on January 7.
In the World Cup rankings, Imboden takes the 65th position among 134 participants with 50 points.
Another Moldovan skier, Christophe Roux, abandoned the competition during the first downhill race.
According to coach Petru Bria, Urs Imboden might win a medal at the Vancouver Winter Olympics that starts on February 12, Info-Prim Neo reports.
