Illegal sale of state-run company causes damage of 23m lei

A group consisting of decision-makers of a transport company operating in the municipality of Chisinau is suspected of causing damage of 23 million lei to the public interests and the employees, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime (CCCEC), in 1991-2011 the members of the group employed different fraudulent schemes whereby they dispossessed employees and pensioners who worked for the given company during four decades of their stakes. The police established that damage of 50,000 lei was caused to the public interests. The damage caused to the company’s employees and the pensioners who worked there was assessed at 23.288 million lei. The CCCEC continues the investigation into this case so as to make sure that the damage caused is compensated and the persons to blame are held accountable.
