During this week, the municipal authorities will take down all the fiber optic cables installed illegally on utility poles along Chisinau’s Stefan cel Mare Boulevard.
Transport and communications chief Oleg Poiata said some internet operators used the utility poles freshly installed during the ongoing boulevard’s rehabilitation to hook up their cables during night hours without any authorization.
Poiata went on to announce that the rehabilitation project will continue this week with paving of sidewalks near the Presidential Palace and elsewhere on Stefan cel Mare Boulevard.
The city’s main boulevard is being revamped along five other central streets as part of a 22 million euros project.
