The Shor Party officially started its election campaign for the snap parliamentary elections of July 11. The electoral program was presented by the party’s leader Ilan Shor in a videoconference, IPN reports.

Ilan Shor said the party competes in elections not to gains seats of MP, but to radically change people’s lives during a year. “The Shor Party competes in elections in order to win and to obtain the post of Prime Minster so that the Premier improves people’s lives. I know I will be the most efficient Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova. During a year, I can to change people’s lives here and now,” stated the politician.

He noted that immediately after the Shor Party comes to power, it will introduce state monopoly on the import of alcohol, oil products and tobacco. In several months, the state budget will be raised and the living sandals will be improved. Taxes will be collected efficiently. During half a year, the economic system they propose will bring more money into the budget. The higher budget will be used to raise pensions to a decent level.

According to Ilan Shor, Moldova should introduce the minimum income for each citizen, either they are unemployed or not. This is what the party will do during the first year of government.

Education, including the higher one, should be free. The medicines for older persons should also be free. There should be introduced a program of social dwellings and created a company that will build homes as they do in Orhei, where Shor served as a mayor.

As a first step in the fight against corruption, the commissioners, prosecutors and judges in districts should be elected and these should be paid salaries of at least €1,500. There should be introduced the jury system in courts.

In June 2017, Ilan Shor was sentenced to seven years and a half in jail for causing considerable damage to the state by swindle and abuse of power. The sentence was challenged. In June 2019, Ilan Shor disappeared from the public sphere and the prosecutors instituted criminal proceedings against him for illegally fleeing the country. On August 15, 2019, Ilan Shor was deprived of parliamentary immunity. His case continues to be tried in the appeals court.
