The Chisinau Appeals Court rejected the prosecutors’ request to remand businessman Ilan Shor, who is under house arrest, in custody. The given decision is irrevocable, IPN reports.
The judges thus upheld the May 6 decision of the Buiucani Court by which the former president of the Administration Board of Banca de Economii was placed under house arrest for 30 days.
Anticorruption prosecutor Adriana Betisor said the prosecutors will continue to take steps to obtain the remanding of Ilan Shor in custody.
The Appeals Court is yet to pronounce on the prosecutor’s request to hold on remand the former president of the Administration Board of Banca de Economii Viorel Barca, who is also investigated in the case concerning the bad loans released by the bank.
