The General Police Inspectorate, referring to statements made at a press conference today, October 31, by Piotr Guțul, public organization "Protecția consumatorului" chairman, said that "the number of the police station mentioned in a conference was wrong".

The IGP said that "Police Station number 4 of the Central Police Inspectorate is located on the indicated address, Gagarin street, 3, not Police Station no. 1". "Since 2000, through the ruling of the Chișinău City Council, it was assigned to the possession of The General Police Commissariat, currently the Police Department of Chișinău Municipality".

According to the IGP, within a commission that had to identify the police stations that required repair works, it was decided to commence the renovation work of the headquarters, while the employees were temporarily relocated to the auxiliary headquarters of the police station on Negruzzi Boulevard, 6. The renovation works are ongoing.

The public organization "Protecția consumatorului" chairman, Piotr Guțul, said that the Center district Police Station number 1, located on Gagarin Boulevard, 3, "was sold", which he considers inadmissible. In an IPN press conference, Piotr Guțul said that this information has come to his knowledge via a letter signed by a police officer, which was sent to his organization. Piotr Guțul said that the building in which the Police Station headquarters are located is currently locked. A while ago, the surface of the building was partially rented by an economic agent.
