If the Party of Socialists and the bloc ACUM reach an agreement concerning a potential parliamentary majority, in this situation the opinion of the foreign partners should be taken into account, considers politologist and journalist Igor Volnitski. According to him, Moldova is now in a rather difficult situation . All the social projects implemented in the recent past exerted a particular pressure on the country’s budget and the current situation cannot be overcome without foreign support, IPN reports.

“That’s why, no matter what coalition is formed, between the PSRM and ACUM or between the PDM and PSRM, it should take into account the foreign partners’ opinion,” Igor Volnitski stated in the program “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel.

According to him, the foreign partners want stability in Moldova. “There is the border with NATO and with the European Union here and the interests of the United States of America, the European Union and the Russian Federation intersect here. Everyone needs first of all stability, but not at any cost,” stated the expert in political sciences.

He noted the ruling party is considering the possibility of holding snap elections given the pace at which it continues to implement such social projects as the rise in pensions, “Good Roads 2”, “First House 4”. “So, the ruling party admits that snap elections are possible,” he stated.

The Party of Socialists’ jurist Fadei Nagachevski said the EU would welcome an alliance between the PSRM and ACUM. “Why? Because none of them are involved in schemes and none of them have big “sins”. If these entities reach a consensus and start to generate economic stability, this will lead to social stability plus the neutrality about which the Socialists speak. These are a guarantee for the EU that a Russian army will not exist on the country’s territory and for the Russian Federation – that a NATO army will not be based here,” stated the jurist.
