The Party of Action and Solidarity is waiting for the Constitutional Court to validate the election outcome and wants the new Parliament to start work as swiftly as possible. The party already has a governmental team and is ready to name a new Government and to present a government plan for the next four years, PAS president Igor Grosu stated in a press briefing. He refused to give the names of the future Cabinet members, IPN reports.
Igor Grosu said the cleanup in the justice sector and the fight against corruption are among the Government’s priorities so that the correct prosecutors and judges have the go-ahead for recovering the stolen US$1 billion, confiscating the property of thieves and stopping the enormous flows of money that are stolen to the detriment of ordinary citizens.
PAS aims to attract European funds and investments. The PAS leader said the new Government will ensure the correct use of the €600 million offered by the EU in assistance for economic recovery and other funds and investments for economic revitalization, creation of jobs, investment opportunities.
PAS reaffirms its commitment to raise the minimum pension to 2,000 lei. According to Igor Grosu, the way in which the state institutions work should be changed drastically. A professional and efficient Government should be formed in the nearest future. The PAS leader called on Moldovans with relevant experience in governance, management, law and international relations to come to PAS if they can become involved in the transformations in the country or to just provide from a distance experience and expertise for projects that will be proposed by PAS.
In another development, Igor Grosu said he is proud of the election results and thanked all those who voted. He said the victory scored on July 11 is not only PAS’s victory. It is the victory of honesty against stealing, of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova against corruption. The trust offered by the citizens is a big responsibility for PAS and the party’s duty is not to disappoint. A lot of work is to be done in the immediate period as Moldova was brought to its knees and courageous actions are needed to put things right.
The politician noted that some of the state institutions closed their eyes to illegalities and even encouraged abuses against the free vote. Challenges were filed and those to blame will answer in accordance with the law. PAS will build institutions so that no matter who is elected by the people to govern the country, no one can subdue the state. PAS will take care of all the citizens equally, no matter who they voted for, so that no person lives in poverty and fear at home.
