Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said that he voted for what he has pleaded for in recent years, for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to live in peace and prosperity, where human life has value and the rights are respected, IPN reports.

The head of Parliament went to the polling station together with his wife and daughter, who exercised her right to vote for the first time. “It is a historic moment, unique in its kind, and I believe in the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, in their lucidity and maturity,” stated Igor Grosu.

His wife and daughter said that they voted for a prosperous future and for a democratic country.

“We see that from the first hour things have been going well, both in the country and in the diaspora,” said Igor Grosu. The politician noted that the authorities will deal with any attempt to disrupt the electoral process.

All voters are expected to mark their choice at the 2,219 polling stations, of which 1,988 were established on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, including 30 polling stations for people living on the left bank of the Nistru. Another 231 polling stations were opened outside the country, in 37 states, for diaspora voters, and three of these are intended for postal voting.
