The Constitutional Court has all the arguments to pronounce on the unconstitutionality of the Shor Party, said Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu. He called on the population to exert public pressure on the Prosecutor’s Office and the judges of the Constitutional Court so that a decision is taken over the illegal financing and the possibility of outlawing of the Shor Party. The Speaker noted the protests staged by the Shor Party are actions aimed at destabilizing the situation in the country, which are orchestrated by the Russian intelligence services and politicians in conflict with the law, IPN reports.

Over the last few days, members and sympathizers of the Shor Party have insistently asked that the authorities should fully pay the bills for the winter season. During the protests, the demonstrators blocked streets in the municipality of Chisinau or national highways. The Speaker said all those who disrupt traffic will be punished in accordance with the law.

“This is not an authentic protest. These protests are paid from outside, being organized by a criminal group. The police do their job and document any violation. Those who are to blame should know that they will suffer the consequences for blocking national arteries. We are witness to a hybrid attack staged by an alliance of bandits and the Russian Federation. The Russian intelligence services, together with corrupt persons and bandits from the Republic of Moldova, reached an agreement and try to destabilize the situation in the country,” Igor Grosu stated in the program “Secrets of the Power” on JurnalTV channel.

The official noted there are two institutions that can bring these wrongdoings to an end – the Prosecutor’s Office and the Constitutional Court. The experts of the Venice Commission left the possibility of outlawing the Shor Party to the discretion of the Constitutional Court and the Court’s judges are to soon pronounce on the constitutionality of the party led by Ilan Shor.

“The Prosecutor’s Office should ultimately send this case to court. The prosecutors collected evidence. The investigative press also gathered evidence. Everyone knows that they are bandits. This case should be finally sent to court and this can be done only by the Prosecutor’s Office. Furthermore, we are all waiting for the Constitutional Court’s decision and we hope that the members of the Court follow the developments in society and pronounce on the Government’s request to outlaw this party that is not a party, but an organized criminal group. Since this party was taken over and renamed, it has done nothing but deliberately violate what could be violated. I call on everyone to exert this public pressure on institutions so that an end result is ensured. The Constitutional Court has all the arguments on its table,” stated the Speaker.

The Movement for the People, within which the Shor Party is the most active participant, intends to mount a new protest in front of the Parliament Building on Thursday, starting at 11am. The protesters demand that the MPs should amend the legislation so that the state fully pays citizens’ bills for the winter months.
