Igor Gamretski was suspended from the post of head of the Chisinau Public Transport and Communications Division. He will no longer hold this post as of July 5, IPN has learned from the Chisinau City Hall.
Under an order made by Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca, the labor relations with Igor Gamretski were suspended in connection with his investigation, until a definitive judgment is passed.
Igor Gamretski told the portal Realitatea.md that he hasn’t yet familiarized himself with the order, but considers that this is abusive. He will consult lawyers and will decide how to act further.
Igor Gamretski will stand trial on charges of influence peddling when choosing companies that were to build pay parking lots in Chisinau. He is now under house arrest. He faces 150,000 to 200,000 lei or up to six years in jail.
