The Party of Socialists will support the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” in the referendum to amend the Constitution so that it allows for the direct election of the head of state, the Socialists’ leader Igor Dodon said in the program “Fourth power” on N4 TV channel, IPN reports.
“We are also for the direct election of the head of state. We will support with pleasure the given initiative of the Platform “Dignity and Truth”,” stated Dodon.
He addressed a message to the former Premier Ion Sturza and former minister of education Maia Sandu, calling on them to take part in governance. “It’s easier to stay aside and to criticize. Mister Sturza, please come to Chisinau and form a party that would come to power. The same message is valid for Maia Sandu,” stated the leader of the Party of Socialists.
Igor Dodon added that they are for early elections and will not become involved in the formation of a parliamentary majority, regardless of its structure. “No parliamentary majority will be able to solve the problems faced now by the Republic of Moldova, no matter who is the Premier. The country is on the edge of a precipice. We do not have entrepreneurship. The agriculture is down as the processing industry is. Radical changes are needed,” he stated.
