The leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon, who runs for MP in the July 11 elections in a bloc with the Party of Communists, said they will defend the results of elections and the people’s vote if the right tries not to recognize the victory in the parliamentary elections. The politician noted that if the election outcome is not recognized by their opponents, they will take to the streets, IPN reports.
In his online program, Igor Dodon said all these violations that are committed now with relation to the closure of polling stations on the left side of the Nistru and for the diaspora are staged artificially so that the parties of the right later demand not to recognize these elections. “There are reach risks that after July 11, owing to the personal ambitions, vainglory and blocking of the process of designating the Prime Minister, we will have elections,” stated Igor Dodon.
“They have one more scenario – not to recognize these elections. This means rerun elections in August, if they don’t like the election results and do not get a majority of seats, while the Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists wins. During 30 years of independence, the parties of the left always won. We will now win again and they are afraid,” stated Igor Dodon, noting the gained victory should be defended in the street.
