The Party of Socialists (PSRM) expects to gain 25% to 30% of the poll in the June 14 local elections, the party’s leader Igor Dodon said in the program “Friday” on RTR-Moldova channel, IPN reports.
Igor Dodon said the list of candidates for the post of councilor on the Balti municipal council was compiled. “The list is headed by Socialist MP Victor Sorocean. We are yet to decide who to field for the post of mayor of Balti municipality. This could be Alexandru Usatyi or even a woman,” he stated.
Asked about his relationship with Renato Usatyi, Igor Dodon said they will not take part in the election campaign together, but agreed that they will not hamper each other. “I think that in the parliamentary elections, which could take place earlier, the PSRM can win 50% of the seats of MP. We will need a powerful ally and this ally will be Usatyi’s party,” he stated.
